Dr. Mariana Golumbeanu has PhD in the Geography Sciences at the University of Bucharest, Romania. She acquired domestic experience as a research assistant and senior research at the National Institute for Marine Research and Development “Grigore Antipa”, Constanta, Romania. At the present, she is the Head of the Technological Transfer and Dissemination Department. The major fields of interest are: integrated coastal zone management, protection and conservation of marine environment, sustainable tourism in the coastal areas, environmental education, training activities, dissemination, public awareness and outreach. Dr. Golumbeanu is the representative at the National Focal Point for Integrated Coastal Zone Management (ICZM) Advisory Group to the Black Sea Commission (Istanbul/Turkey), National Reference Center (NRCs) European Environmental Agency EEA/EIONET (Copenhagen/Denmark).
