Project Implementation Period:
July 2010 - August 2014
Specific Funding Programme:

IPA Adriatic Cross-border Cooperation 2007-2013

Budget:

€ 1.790.770

About the Project:

AdriaticMos contributed to the development of the Motorways of the Sea (MoS) in the Adriatic area as a core segment of the transport system of the Eastern Mediterranean, in particular through the elaboration of the Adriatic MoS Masterplan. The project capitalised and extended results of the previous “East Med MoS” project. Project activities included:

  • Analysis of Adriatic ports and related maritime traffic fluxes, considering both the present state and future projections (2020, 2025 and 2030);
  • Identification of potential port clusters (11 in total) which would be able to attract a higher level of traffic, through a more specialized and systematic approach;
  • Definition of possible lines for the Adriatic MoS through the Cube Cargo model;
  • Elaboration of the Adriatic Mos Masterplan illustrating characteristics of the intermodal corridors and MoS lines in the area and assessing the levels of priority of MoS projects based on cost-benefit analysis and environment impact assessment.
